Management Advisory Council - Making an Impact Through Giving

Thank you to the Management Advisory Council for supporting this year's focus on mental health and for investing in Wheeler Health's mission. For more than 50 years, Wheeler has taken on the most complex challenges in behavioral and primary health care, and we’ve succeeded because of our relentless approach to innovation, quality care, outcomes, and impact.

Your support for four priority areas at Wheeler make a real impact in the lives of the 50,000 people we serve every year, in 90 percent of the state's cities and towns! Do you want to support something not on this list?  Please contact John Sponauer, Vice President of Marketing Communications and Philanthropic Giving, to discuss more.

  • Basic Needs Fund. Wheeler's Basic Needs Fund addresses environmental and social factors that interfere with a patient’s health and well-being, but which are not addressed by other means of funding. The fund allows our community health workers to address environmental conditions that might lead to poor mental and primary care health outcomes. [More]
  • Basic Needs Fund for Northwest Village School. Like the Basic Needs Fund, this fund supports students and their families at our therapeutic day school in Plainville, which serves students from dozens of districts across Connecticut.
  • The Samuel Marszycki Scholarship was established in 2021 to support a graduating senior with post-secondary education. It is named in honor of a former paraprofessional at Northwest Village School who passed away in June 2020. Its first award in 2021 helped support a graduating NVS senior who went on to study at a local community college, and its 2022 award supported a student going on to study at culinary school.
