Changes to Service Hours and Locations Due to COVID-19

Wheeler staff are working with patients to offer appropriate alternatives in order to support and meet their needs, including telehealth (click to learn more). Please contact your clinician or call our Navigation Center at 888.793.3500 to learn what options are available! Wheeler's Navigation Center is open Monday through Thursday, 8AM to 6PM and Friday from 8AM to 5PM!


This page includes a list of behavioral health groups or related services that are on hold, or have changed, due to COVID-19. This list will be updated on an ongoing basis. If you are a Community Justice/Alternative in the Community (AIC) client, please scroll down for additional details related to your services.

If you have specific questions, or if you are unsure about whether your service or group is on hold, please call our Navigation Center at 860.793.3500. Wheeler's Navigation Center is open Monday through Thursday, 8AM to 6PM and Friday from 8AM to 5PM.

THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS ARE ON HOLD INDEFINITELY UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED:

HARTFORD – 43 Woodland Street*

  • All Adult Outpatient Groups for Hartford and the Children’s LGBT Outpatient Group in Hartford are on hold.
  • All Children's Outpatient Groups in Hartford are on hold.
  • Bettor Choice Gambling Treatment groups are on hold.
  • Saturday Hours at Wheeler’s Family Health & Wellness Center in Hartford will resume on August 1
  • Healthy Kids in the Kitchen Cooking Classes at 49 Woodland Street are cancelled until further notice, but are being conducted as Facebook Live events.
  • Intensive Outpatient Services groups are on hold.

* Patients are being seen individually via telehealth and confidential phone services.

HARTFORD GROUPS – 43 Woodland Street

Some in-person groups are offered at this site, depending on needs, and services also are being delivered through telehealth and telemedicine. Check with your site and/or clinician for details on groups and services at this location.



NEW BRITAIN GROUPS – 75 North Mountain Road

BRISTOL GROUPS – 10 and 225 North Main Street(s) *
Some in-person groups are offered at this site, depending on needs, and services also are being delivered through telehealth and telemedicine. Check with your site and/or clinician for details on groups and services at this location.


WATERBURY GROUPS – Now at 855 Lakewood Road, Waterbury (Moved from 100 Jefferson Square).

PLAINVILLE GROUPS/PROGRAMS – 91 Northwest Drive

  • We are still accommodating Open Access Walk-in intakes for Children's Outpatient Programs (COP) and Adult Outpatient Programs (AOP) at 91 Northwest Drive.
  • Adult Outpatient (AOP) groups: We are currently offering a Men’s Co-occurring IOP group and Women’s Co-occurring IOP group. A Mixed Gender Outpatient Group also is being offered.
  • Children’s Outpatient (COP) groups: A small number of groups are being offered. Please check with your clinician for additional information.
  • Extended Day Treatment (EDT): The Extended Day Treatment Program will resume face-to-face treatment beginning the week of July 13, 2020. Programming and treatment delivery will be assessed on a week-to-week basis and may change based on enrollment, needs, staffing, State of Connecticut COVID-19 mandates, and more. Clients are encouraged to work with their treatment team to develop a customized treatment plan based on their needs and comfort level. Services also are still available via telemedicine and include group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, crisis support, and case management. If you are enrolled in EDT and have questions, contact your clinician, or call Wheeler’s Navigation Center at 860.793.3500 or toll-free 888.793.3500, and you will be redirected to the EDT program and staff.


PLAINVILLE - 91 Northwest Drive, Northwest Village School
The Northwest Village School (NVS) team is currently under way with its Extended School Year (ESY) program, and the NVS Recovery Team is working hard to prepare for school in the fall and a potential fall opening, and with everyone’s safety in mind, preparing and planning to implement safety guidelines set forth by the Department of Health, Department of Education, and the CDC to open the school to students soon. We will keep you posted as we receive further guidance. The following services are running either in the office or remotely via telehealth: Explore, Parenting Education, Family Violence Education, Pre-Trial Alcohol and Drug Education, and Alternative in the Community (AIC) programs. Our clients will be contacted directly regarding program options.
