The Northwest Village School is designed especially
for special education students, preschool to age 21, whose social and
emotional adjustment, speech and language impairments, learning problems
and/or other disabilities have resulted in the public school's selection
of a specialized program.
- A team approach by a staff
of more than 90 specialists in the fields of reading, the arts, computer
technology, library science, physical education, vocational education
and wilderness training. Our staff includes psychiatrists, psychologists,
social workers, speech/language therapists, and occupational therapists
- Close collaboration between
students, families, educational staff and participating school districts
and organizations critical to those we serve
- Strong communication and
planning between our staff and home school district staff
- Students are grouped by
the individual's learning style with consideration given to age,
group
skills and social functioning
