Nutmeg Television Highlights Sibling Connections Camp

Cristy McNaney, Psy.D., associate director of Evaluation Services at Wheeler, and Dave Meizels, executive director of Channel 3 Kids Camp, were recent guests on Nutmeg Television’s “Doors to Hope and Healing” program hosted by Jackie Ford, special projects coordinator for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF). Cristy and Dave discussed the Sibling Connections Camp, an annual weeklong, overnight camp in August.  Throughout the week, DCF-involved siblings in foster care enjoy time together, making memories that last for years to come. The program is a partnership between Channel 3 Kids Camp, DCF, and Wheeler.

This year, Sibling Connections Camp takes place from August 8 through August 13 at Channel 3’s Kids Camp in Andover, Connecticut. The program is FREE for siblings, ages 8-17, provided at least one child or youth in the sibling group is in the care of DCF. Children and youth must be registered by a DCF worker, but any individual may call the camp for more information at 860.742.2267.
