Wheeler Clinic has over 20 years of experience
providing psychiatric emergency treatment services through its Community
Response Team, a mobile crisis unit. It is our goal to respond to urgent
situations and emergencies, supporting clients with acute or prolonged
psychiatric needs.
- Resolution of the crisis
in the home, or community
- Follow up services
- Preservation of a safe,
nurturing and supportive environment
- Individual one-to-one support
in clients’ homes, if circumstances warrant
- The Emergency Services team
is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year long.
- Most face-to-face evaluations
occur within one hour.
- After an initial evaluation,
the continuing care clinician, who works closely with the Mobile Crisis
Team, may provide individual or group therapy for clients.
- The continuing care clinician may continue
to counsel clients who have difficulty finding therapeutic supports
elsewhere in the community.
