At some point in our lives, most of us experience problems that affect
our lives and work. The Wheeler EAP is a confidential counseling program
that helps employees with family or marital difficulties, stress, alcoholism,
drug abuse, or emotional problems. In addition, the EAP can locate resources
for eldercare, financial and legal services, support groups, and various
other needs.
When you or your family members contact the EAP, you have an opportunity
to speak confidentially with a professional counselor who offers support,
guides you to an appropriate service to help resolve your problems, and
follows up to see that you have received the help needed.
You will speak with one of the EAP professional counselors and a confidential
appointment will be made to discuss your situation at a location convenient
to you. After meeting you, the EAP counselor will recommend a plan of
action. This may include referring you for ongoing personal counseling,
legal assistance, financial counseling or some other help, depending on
what you need.
To find out more about how Wheeler EAP can benefit you and your employer
contact us or call 1.800.522.3271.
The EAP is a company benefit with a pre-determined number of sessions
at no cost to you. When further help is needed, we make every effort to
direct you to help which is not a financial burden.
The EAP works in two ways: you, as an employee, may contact us directly;
or a supervisor may suggest the EAP to employees whose previously good
work performance has gone downhill. In either case, our goal is to help
employees solve the problems interfering with their job, health, or general
well-being.
All of our staff members are certified counselors or hold master's or
Ph.D. degrees. They are professionals who can help people deal with a
wide spectrum of personal issues.
oThe names of the employees or family members using the EAP are not provided
to the employer.
oAll records are kept in a secure area at Wheeler Clinic and DO NOT become
part of the employee's medical or personnel records.
oWhen a supervisor refers an employee to the EAP, the only information
given to supervisor is whether the employee arrived at the initial appointment
and is complying with treatment recommendations. No information is ever
released without the employee's written consent.
