The Extended Day Treatment Programs offer
intensive after-school treatment designed to help young people (ages 6-18)
and families establish more positive ways of interacting. The programs
provide an opportunity for the child to remain with the family and in
the community, significantly reducing the potential for out-of-home placement.
Separate programming is offered for child and adolescent age groups.
Services for the Extended Day Treatment Programs
are offered in a highly structured milieu setting. An individualized treatment
plan is developed for each child/adolescent in the program. Treatment
modalities include:
- Group and individual therapy
- Family and multi-family therapy
- Life skills education
- A parent support group
- Academic tutoring
- Arts and crafts
- Recreation therapy
- Coordination with local schools, Department of Children
and Families (DCF), Juvenile Court, and other treatment providers to
develop a consistent treatment plan
