Our team of childrens behavioral
health experts provides a multidisciplinary community response to mental
health emergencies in the community, home, school, and hospital emergency
room. Our goal is to provide services that will assist families and children
during times of crisis.
- Resolution of the crisis
in the childs home, school or community
- Brief in-home follow-up
services
- Home visits (when requested
by the family) to identify the strengths of the family
- Preservation of a safe,
nurturing and stimulating environment
- Encourage active participation
in the treatment process from family members and other concerned adults
- The Emergency Services team
is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year long.
- Most face-to-face evaluations
occur within one hour.
- Emergency Psychiatric Services
for Children may include integration with other Wheeler Clinic services
including intensive family preservation and in-home support, specialized
education, substance abuse treatment, sexual abuse treatment and parental
training.
