The goal of the LifeLine program is to treat and
support pregnant and parenting women experiencing substance abuse and
psychiatric disorders as they progress through their recovery program.
- Substance abuse and mental health treatment and

- Individual, couples and family therapy
- Infant/child assessment and referral
- Parenting and child development training and practice
- Community outreach care coordination
- Individualized assessment and treatment planning
- Psychiatric and medication evaluation and monitoring
- Random observed toxicology screening
- Discharge planning and aftercare
- Community consultation and education
- 24-hour crisis coverage
- Recovery from substance abuse, including abstinence
during and after pregnancy
- Overcoming depression, anxiety and other psychiatric
problems
- Life skills, vocational/educational training
- Ongoing involvement with community supports
- Linkage with community medical care providers for
mother, infant and children
- Optimum birth outcomes for babies
- Enhanced development for children
- Preservation of an intact, caring family
LifeLine meets the special needs of women and young children through:
- Treatment that empowers women to make positive choices
for themselves and their children and to develop competence in all aspects
of family life
- Groups for women on health issues, pregnancy, nutrition
and parenting
- Direct practice of parenting skills
- Daily intensive outpatient sessions that allow families
to remain intact
- Flexibility based on individual needs; women attend
as often as several hours daily or as little as one hour per week
- Care coordination
- Culturally-sensitive services
