The Latino Outreach Project offers a combination of
services designed to identify and support Latino men and women who are
at risk for substance abuse. By raising awareness and reducing the stigma
surrounding substance abuse, the Latino Outreach Project breaks down barriers
related to securing treatment services, facilitates engagement in treatment
as well as increases the length of stay in treatment services. In addition
to supporting the identified client, outreach efforts extend to family
members, spiritual leaders and other informal support networks. Services
are carried out in traditional social service settings as well as non-traditional
settings in the community.
