Wheeler Clinic's Alternative Incarceration Center (AIC) is a community-based alternative to incarceration that provides multi-faceted intervention services for adults awaiting trial, on parole or probation. The program utilizes a new curriculum driven evidence-based model designed to assess the needs of each client and reduce the risk of re-offending. Participants work closely with case managers, intervention and employment specialists to help them develop goals and make positive changes in their lives. Community service projects are also an important component of the program.
The AIC offers targeted interventions designed to help clients with:
- Substance abuse
- Social skills
- Problem solving
- Job readiness
